Trumpeter and composer Ted Chubb has spent much of his career creating spaces where jazz can be heard up close. A longtime New York-area bandleader, educator whose playing reflects the lyrical lineage of Booker Little, Art Farmer, and Kenny Dorham, he and his wife reopened a historic Jersey City building, the Statuary - an intimate performance space where audiences sit just feet from the band.
